Hyderabad : Congress senior leader and former MP V. Hanumantha Rao has accused the TRS Government of using force to acquire farmers' land in Medipally near Ibrahimpatnam against their will for Pharma City project.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, VHR alleged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was resorting to "sarkari goonda gardi" (official rowdism) in taking away lands for the Pharma City project. He said poor and weak farmers were being threatened and forced to give away their lands which the government wants to handover to selective pharma companies. He said besides using police forces, KCR was also using TRS goons to intimidate the farmers.

VHR said he would convince Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to visit Medipally to help the affect farmers.
