Warangal Urban: Donning the role of a personal development teacher, IT Minister K T Rama Rao on Saturday advised youth to be mentally strong to handle failures and strive to excel.

The minister along with Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari was inaugurating the first regional centre of Telangana Academy for Skills and Knowledge (TASK) in Hanamkonda on Saturday. He later addressed a gathering of students from different colleges at NIT Warangal. Recollecting a cricket match in Hyderabad between India and Pakistan in 1987 where cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth continued playing after suffering a bleeding injury on his forehead, K T Rama Rao said everyone is bound to face failures and hardships but what is important is how an individual bounces back.

“These days we find news of youngsters committing suicide for ridiculous reasons. One has to be resilient psychologically to overcome troubles. It doesn’t matter in which college you study or what is your background, it only matters how you are going to tackle your failures. This is the key to success,” he suggested the students.

The main objective of setting up TASK regional centre in Warangal is to equip youth with knowledge of real world situation after completion of their studies. A permanent building for the centre will come up at Madikonda IT Incubation Centre with an expenditure of Rs 25 crore, said Tarakarama Rao. The youth in Warangal will be trained to meet the needs of the companies, he added.

Indian cricket team’s former captain swashbuckling Srikkanth, describing IT Minister KTR as a dynamic leader said, excellent work is being done by Telangana government in promoting IT and training the youth. Telangana is one of the progressing states in the country. He told the students to have self-belief and confidence to face the life and to make proper use of TASK centre to stand out in their careers.
