Siddipet: In a gruesome act, a trainee teacher beat up a Class V student in the most inhuman way just because the student had not done his homework.

This happened in Government Primary School in Ibrahimnagar on Friday. Sai Kumar, a resident of Rudraram village in Mirdoddi mandal, as part of his D.Ed practical training course work, had obtained permission from MEO to teach in this school for quite some time. Sai Kumar is enrolled in second year of OTTC College in Siddipet.

On Friday, when Sampath, a Class V student failed to submit his homework, the trainee teacher beat him up badly breaking canes on the poor child’s back. The entire back of the boy was covered with cuts and bruises.

When the child informed his parents about the incident, the parents lodged a complaint at Chinnakodur Police Station against Sai Kumar, the trainee teacher. Sampath was taken to Siddipet Area Hospital and was given treatment for the wounds.

According to D Ashok, Sub-inspector of Police at Chinnakodur, Sai Kumar has been charged with Section 324 of IPC and Section 75 of Juvenile Justice Act.

Even till Saturday noon, the culprit was not arrested as he has been absconding after the incident. It is also likely that he would be issued a station bail after his arrest.

According to reliable sources, due to pressure exerted by the Principal of the school to deal with the students in a harsh way, Sai Kumar had resorted to such an inhuman act. The Mandal Education Officer of Chinnakodur couldn’t be reached on Saturday for his comment.
