The corridors of power have many slap-happy officials who make the subjects run from pillar to post. But the State’s dynamic and committed IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan begs to differ.

Those who make rounds in the Secretariat never find him lazing around in the lounge nor preoccupied with telephone gab. He is one officer who treats every second precious. Other execs are said to be bowled over by his style of functioning. The senior bureaucrat, who also holds charge of Industry department, is prompt in clearing files on a day-to-day basis.

And much to the amazement of one and all, Jayesh did an incredible feat. He cleared more than 100 files while traveling to Hyderabad International Airport from Secretariat before flying off to Delhi on an official visit. Before reaching the airport, Jayesh verified all files and gave his nod wherever required. He also informed his subordinates to collect all files immediately and take action in accordance.

Since he is usually busy with regular meetings with IT and Industry representatives, the official has also adopted a new technique in discharging his duties during his stay in his office in the Secretariat. He calls all visitors in his chamber at one go and address their grievances by allocating 30 seconds to each person. If the issue is important, the official spends two to three minutes for each. Wah, What an officer!
