Hyderabad, Oct 18 : Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said that the Telangana Government was taking measures for modernisation of all libraries in the State.

The Deputy Cm said there were 676 public libraries in Telangana with nearly 68 lakh books. He said after he took over as the Education Minister, he provided internet facility in many libraries. Further, he said the work digitisation of rare books has been going in full pace.

He said all libraries in the State would soon be upgraded and equipped with Wifi facility. He said previous regimes completed neglected libraries. However, he said the present TRS Government has sanctioned sufficient funds for the libraries.

Kadiya Srihari was speaking on the occasion of oath taking ceremony of Aziz Khan as the chairman of Warangal District Libraries on Wednesday. He said the State Government has been providing equal opportunities for the socio-economic and educational growth of all communities. He also listed out various schemes being implemented by the government for the welfare of minorities in Telangana State. (INN)
