Hyderabad: Telangana Telugu Desam Party politburo and central committee meeting, here on Friday, to discuss the crisis arising out of party working president A Revanth Reddy’s outbursts, witnessed walkout by party’s two senior leaders M Narasimhulu and Arvind Kumar Goud. The meeting ended abruptly following the walkout by the two leaders.

According to insiders, Revanth faced criticism from Narasimhulu, Arvind Kumar Goud and Uma Madhav Reddy. The leaders questioned Revanth to come clean and reveal whether he had met All India Congress Committee (AICC) Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and he intended to join the Congress. Party president L Ramana, too, questioned Revanth on the same lines.

The T TDP leaders pressed Revanth for answer whether he had met Rahul Gandhi to discuss on forging alliance in 2019 general elections and whether he had obtained authorisation from party national president N Chandrababu Naidu in making such a move.

The leaders also came down heavily on him for his “derogatory remarks” against party leaders, including Andhra Pradesh Ministers like the Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, P Sunitha and MLC P Keshav. Narasimhulu also strongly objected to Revanth’s proposal to join hands with Congress in the next elections.

The party working President, however refused, to give any clarification and told the party leaders that he would give explanation to Chandrababu Naidu. Irked by this, Narasimhulu came out of the meeting. The party President ended the meeting abruptly.

Sources said TDP general secretary N Lokesh is closely monitoring the developments in the party. He also instructed the leaders to maintain restraint on Revanth issue until Naidu returns.
