Srisailam Project: The Srisailam Devasthanam will be holding a ‘Laksha Deepotsavam’ for ‘Loka Kalyanam’ right from the morning of October 23 at the Pushkarini in connection with the Karthika Masam.

About 100 staff members of the devasthanam will be on duty to arrange diyas or oil lamps for the benefit of the devotees, according to temple executive officer Bharat Gupta. He said here on Sunday that devotees can perform ‘deeparadhana’ free of cost.

On Sunday, during the cultural programmes conducted to mark the Karthika Masam, Perini Satyanarayan Singh of Suryapet presented ‘Perini Lasya Nartanam’. Gupta said that a food festival would be conducted on October 23 in the parking area next to Gowri Sadan. Ten special stalls are to be opened.

The festival would continue until November 18, he said. The temple witnessed a huge rush of devotees on Sunday, the first Sunday of Karthika Masam.
