Hyderabad: A baby boy's body was found in Bandonipally village in Veldandamandal in Nagarkurnool district on Tuesday. The Veldanda police jumped into action suspecting the case to be linked with the abduction of 3-day-old baby boy from Niloufer hospital and began investigation.

After the body of a baby boy was found, the police took into custody a relative of woman who is suspected of abducting a baby boy from Niloufer hospital on Sunday. The suspected woman was identified as S Manjula, a resident of Bandonipally village, who is still at large.

Apart from the relative, the police also took into custody the woman’s mother-in-law for questioning. The police are trying to find out if there is any direct link to the abduction case of a 3-day-old baby boy, whose images were caught in the CCTV footage at the Niloufer Hospital.

It may be mentioned here that N Nirmala, resident of Uppuguda, gave birth to a baby boy in Petlaburj maternity hospital, but since the boy was suffering from pneumonia, doctors suggested that the family take the baby to Niloufer Hospital for treatment.

Even as the grandmother E Kalpana was getting ready to take the baby to Niloufer, an unknown woman introduced herself as Manju and started helping the 45-year-old woman. While being shifted in an ambulance, the woman also accompanied her to Niloufer.

The woman who had gained confidence asked Kalpana to bring tea, while she held the baby boy in her lap. Believing her, Kalpana went to a nearby tea stall, but by the time she turned back the woman was missing along with her grandson.
