The High Court at Hyderabad has admitted a writ petition challenging the appointment of Mohammed Aslam Pervaiz as Vice-Chancellor of Moulana Azad National Urdu University.Major (Retd) Syed Ghouse Mohammed Quadri filed the petition contending that Aslam does not have the requisite qualifications to be appointed as Vice-Chancellor.

Justice A Rajashekar Reddy, while hearing the case on Thursday, ordered notices to Union HRD Ministry, the University Grants Commission, the Hyderabad-based Moulana Azad National Urdu University and its Vice- Chancellor giving them three weeks time to file their counter affidavits.
