The Congress has proposed 17 issues for discussion in the Assembly in its Winter Session which scheduled to commence from Friday and demanded that all the issues be discussed at any cost.

Hyderabad: The Congress has proposed 17 issues for discussion in the Assembly in its Winter Session which scheduled to commence from Friday and demanded that all the issues be discussed at any cost.

Leader of the Opposition and leader of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) K Jana Reddy and deputy leader M Bhatti Vikramarka participated in the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Assembly on Thursday.

Speaking to the media, Bhatti said they had proposed about 17 important issues for discussion in the Assembly. He said that the government should run the Assembly till all the issues of were covered. He said their leader Jana Reddy proposed 100 days session if needed.

He said the CLP had proposed discussion on farmers issue like crop losses, loan waiver, law and order situation in the State including atrocities on the weaker sections, the Nayeem issue and others. The party would raise the issues of land grabbing at Miyapur and drug racket. Unemployment and fee reimbursement issues would be taken up in the Assembly, Bhatti said.

The bad road conditions in Hyderabad city would be taken to the notice of the government during the debates. The government’s failure in distributing three acres of land to each SC family, construction of double-bedroom houses and keeping the bills of house construction in pending would be questioned.

The Congress would question the government on the steps being taken up in providing 12 per cent reservations to the Muslims and STs, providing support price to the farm produce, spending of special development fund for the SCs and the STs.

On the welfare front, irregularities in distribution of sheep and fish would be raised in the Assembly. Steps taken on the implementation of BC sub plan would be asked.

Apart from these issues, related to Self-Help Groups, health, GST, price hike, and contributory pension scheme would be raised by the Congress.
