Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday urged the party leaders to be part of the solution and not to create problems. He asked the leaders to strive for victory of the party in the 2019 elections with coordinated efforts.

The Chief Minister was addressing a joint meeting of the party’s State committee and the Legislature Party here at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday.

Sources said the Chief Minister was unhappy with infighting in the party and made a specific reference to the tussle between MLA Bajireddy Goverdhan and MLC Bhupati Reddy. He questioned as to why the MLC should interfere in the constituency of the MLA and why he should complain against the MLA regularly.

He asked the MLC to withdraw the complaint against the MLA. Source said that the Chief Minister had given a clean chit to the MLC Farooq Hussain, stating that this episode was deliberately done.

Sources further said KCR told that the party would come to power again in 2019 by winning 95 to 100 seats. He said that the opposition has grown weak, but this should not lead to complacency. He was unhappy that the TRS leaders did not show intent to counter Congress leader D Sridhar Babu, who was allegedly involved in fixing a party leader. Assuring seats to 99 per cent of the members, KCR said the candidates would be announced three months before elections, said sources.

The Chief Minister is said to have told the party leaders that a clarity on the delimitation would emerge after the Gujarat elections in December. The leaders would have more opportunities with increased constituencies, added sources.

Sources said that in a clear message, KCR did not want any altercation between newly appointed in-charges and the other public representatives. “Do not get involved in unnecessary conflicts. The in-charges should work in coordination with the MLAs and Ministers and strive for getting as many seats as possible in the next elections,” said the Chief Minister is learnt to have told in the meeting.

Later, addressing a press conference, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said the Chief Minister had asked all the members, particularly the Ministers, to come prepared for the Assembly session.
