The High Court at Hyderabad has asked the Telangana police to inform it by Monday about the status of the application made by T JAC for holding its proposed unemployed youth meeting on October 31 in Hyderabad.

Justice S V Bhatt gave this direction on Thursday, while hearing two separate petitions filed by T JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram and TJAC co-convenor Chalma Reddy seeking a direction to the police to grant permission for the meeting to be held at either Nizam College grounds, Saroornagar Indoor Stadium, vacant space between LB Nagar-Nagole stretch or NTR Garden near Indira Park.

Senior counsel L Ravichander and counsel B Rachna Reddy appearing for the petitioners complained that the police were deliberately not acting on the applications made for grant of permission in order to scuttle the meeting.

They said this is a pattern of not passing any order till the last moment, so that the meetings fail. The proposed meeting is scheduled for Tuesday. The government pleader sought time to get instructions and accordingly the case is adjourned to Monday.
