Inter-state dacoit Bhim Singh killed in encounter
The notorious dacoit Bhim Singh, who decamped with Rs 5.5 crore from a vehicle at Obulapuram Mitta near Dhone in Kurnool district on September 12, was traced in Janur in Rajasthan and was shot dead along with his driver in an encounter with the Andhra Pradesh police on Friday.
Hyderabad: The notorious dacoit Bhim Singh, who decamped with Rs 5.5 crore from a vehicle at Obulapuram Mitta near Dhone in Kurnool district on September 12, was traced in Janur in Rajasthan and was shot dead along with his driver in an encounter with the Andhra Pradesh police on Friday.
It may be recalled that Bhim Singh had waylaid a van carrying Rs 5.5 crore belonging to the Kalpadruma Gems and Jewellery Limited when the vehicle was going to Bengaluru from Hyderabad on September 12.
The accused along with some others overtook the van with two high-end cars and looted the amount. The accused had even abducted Neelesh and two others along with the booty and later released them. The victims in their complaint with the Dhone police stated that the accused had brandished weapons before kidnapping them. Since then the police have been searching for the accused.
