IP rights are a special genre

Hyderabad: Sultan-Ul-Uloom College of Law, Hyderabad organized a National Workshop on Intellectual Property Law: Practical Aspects on Saturday in its college premises which was inaugurated by Hon'ble Shri Justice M.s.Ramachandra Rao, Judge, High court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and the State of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking on the occasion, JLN Murthy, Advocate & Convenor of the Workshop stated that: "Intellectual Property is a basket of different rights. There is no precise definition of "intellectual property" but it can be divided into the areas of trademarks, patents, copyright, database rights, designs and confidential information.

While delivery his inaugural address, Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao, Judge, High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the State of Telangana and the State of Andhra Pradesh stated that "Intellectual property Rights are special genre of rights which protect the results of intellectual and creative labour. They are a mechanism to protect the capital and the man hours invested in the creating of the subject matter of Intellectual Property”.
About 300 participants attended the event.
