Hyderabad : South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav emphasized on according top priority to elimination of all Unmanned Level Crossings over the Zone with advance planning to complete the task.

He conducted intensive review meeting on Safety on Monday at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. The Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded attended the meeting through video conference.

Vinod Kumar Yadav reviewed the works related to elimination of Unmanned level crossings (UMLCs in the zone since the elimination of the UMLCs is the main agenda related to safety. He instructed all the Divisional Railway Managers to monitor the subject personally and expedite the works related to UMLCs across the zone. He also held a detailed review of the safety aspects on the Zone including minor incidents of unusual happenings like, gate open cases, minor derailments in yards and in the in the sections and diesel loco failures, etc., He instructed the officials and staff to be more vigilant and called for immediate remedial measures and precautions to arrest any such failures should not take place in future and ensure safe running of the trains. He instructed all the officials should complete the proposed track related works within the given schedule of time across the zone and ensure punctuality.

SCR Additional General Manger John Thomas and other senior officials were also present in the meeting.
