Govt earns highest revenues through liquor sales in Oct
Increasing liquor sales has come as a big solace for the state government which has been facing financial crisis. The State had registered a steep 20 per cent increase in liquor sales in October this year by earning a whooping Rs 1,750 crore revenues in a month alone.
Hyderabad: Increasing liquor sales has come as a big solace for the state government which has been facing financial crisis. The State had registered a steep 20 per cent increase in liquor sales in October this year by earning a whooping Rs 1,750 crore revenues in a month alone.
It was first time that the State government generated highest ever revenue through liquor sales this month. The State Excise and Prohibition Department officials attributed increasing business activity and flooding outside investments in Greater Hyderabad was one of the main reasons for growing liquor sales.
Taking into consideration the revenues generated in the first month of Excise year begins October, officials said that the government was confident of revenue being generated through liquor sales would go up to Rs 20,000 crore.
