Hyderabad: Scores of candidates appearing for the UGC-NET-2017 examination at several centers on Sunday have to undergo tense moments.
Because, the aspirants appearing for the Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship examination were shocked to know that their roll numbers missing at the examination centers allotted them by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), which has conducted the examination.
For example, candidates were issued admit cards to give their examination at the Kendriya Vidyalaya's in Uppal and Bolaram. When the candidates reported to the examination centers they could not find their roll numbers.
Tense movements witnessed among the students who reported to the centers to give their examination, starting from 9.30 AM. The candidates had to wait for a little over 40 minutes, as the officials at the Kendriya Vidayala had to wait for clarification from the higher-ups in the CBSE. And, the students were allowed to give the examination separately at around 9.50 AMS.
Speaking to The Hans India, a senior official from the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Uppal said that we have cross-checked the admission cards issued to the candidates with Kendriya Vidyalaya No: 1, Uppal. However, their roll numbers were not allocated at our Centre. “At least, four candidates have reported to the examination center facing the same problem,” he said.
Adding, it would not be possible for the candidates to figure out the center of examination where their roll numbers were allocated. So, the issue had taken up with the senior officials in the CBSE. In turn, we were instructed to allow the candidates to give their examination separately.
As per the instructions, the students were asked to sign a letter giving the details of discrepancy cropped up and the same had been countersigned by the examination superintendent and the invigilators. And, attendance from them has been taken for all the three papers so that there would not be any problem in the evaluation and declaration of results, the official said.
Meanwhile, candidates appearing to the UGC-Net examination in Maula Ali and Tarnaka were seen standing in beelines for two hours before the examination centers. This had brought the traffic movement to a grinding halt at several places. Cops had a tough time in crowd controlling and for the smooth flow of traffic, as they were not allowed into the premises of the examination centers before one hour of the commencement of the examination.
