Making a statement in the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Monday, the Chief Minister said that the incident occurred at about 12.40 pm today when the deceased, Bharathi, who was among a few MRPS workers who were staging demonstration at Hyderabad Collectorate's gate as part of MRPS state wide protest demanding categorisation of Scheduled Castes, fell sick. She was immediately rushed to the Osmania General Hospital where she died. He said that the government has already ordered an enqiry into the incident.
The Chief Minister announced that the government would pay a compensation of Rs. 25 lakh to the family of Bharathi. Accepting the demand made by Leader of Opposition K. Jana Reddy, he said government job would be given to one member of Bharathi's family and the government would also take responsibility of education of her children.
KCR said all political parties were serious on categorisation of SCs and a resolution was also passed in the House in the past which was also sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said he would lead an all-party delegation to the Prime Minister on the issue. He said a fresh appointment would be sought from PM Modi in the next two days.
