The Chief Minister made this announcement while replying to a question during the discussion on the purification and updating of land records, continued for the second day in the State Assembly on Tuesday. The new pattadar passbooks modelled on the lines of the passport documents. The water resistance passbook will not be affected even if they are in water for a period of one month.

Unlike earlier, the documents could not be interpolated with overwriting on them. Making any entries is possible only with a special pen used by the authorised officials, he pointed out. The chief minister said that it was also decided to overhaul the land record data as well as the functioning of the registration process to make it less complicated.

As part of the move, he said that there are 141 sub-registrar offices in the State will continue to function. Except in those 141 places, the government will give the authority of land registrations to the MROs in about remaining 443 mandals in the state.

It was also decided to appoint 1000 Revenue Information Technology Officers (RITOs) from mandal, division, district collectorate and Chief Commissioner of Land Administration (CCLA) and other wings of the revenue department.

Whenever a transaction takes place in the sub registrar’s office the same will be transferred to the MRO on the same day. In turn, the MRO’s effects the mutation in the revenue land records and the same will be uploaded online. And, the land records thus published, and which will be made available in public domain will be the official land record document of the State government, he clarified.

Currier charges will be collected from the farmers at the time of the transaction and the registration and the new pattadar passbooks will be sent to them by post, he said.Similarly, it was decided to simplify the 32 columns of 'Pahani', where the details of lands are entered. The cumbersome procedure of entering details which are not relevant to the changing times will be removed.

Further, this will help the banks extending agriculture loans easy by knowing the status of the land with a click of the mouse. Unlike earlier, the land records of every village in the state will be available online for everyone. Copies of the CDs of the land records will also be distributed among the MLAs and MPs. He asked the members to raise above party lines to create awareness among the farmers about the successful conduct of the state government initiative in elimination discrepancies in land records.
