Hyderabad: A UoH student from Tripura, who fell from the third floor of his hostel building on the intervening night of November 6 and 7, sustained severe head injuries. Police, who registered a case, are investigating. According to the police, Birbal Koizara, 20, a 2nd year student (Language Science) and a native of Tripura, fell from the third floor of the hostel building during the night.

On hearing the sound, hostel inmates rushed to rescue him. He was first shifted to the university medical room and later to Care Hospital, Gachibowli. Besides head injuries, Birbal also sustained fractured legs.

“Medical investigations are going on. Reason for falling is not known,” said a police official. The university informed the parents of Birbal about the incident. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof P Prakash Babu contacted the local guardian Nandalal Debbarma, Deputy Engineer, BHEL. Nandalal met the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and was briefed about the incident. Birbal’s condition is said to be critical and is undergoing treatment.
