Akbaruddin Owaisi announces MIM and TRS alliance for 2019 elections
During the discussion on minority welfare in the Telangana Assembly, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi heaped praises on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao stating that the Chief Minister post is insignificant to him.

He said that the TRS government is extending full support to minorities to which Congress Congress MLA Sampath objected to his statements.
Responding to the same, the MIM leader said that former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy had strived for Muslims welfare but not Congress.
Akbaruddin, further declared that the MIM and TRS combine will come to power in 2019.
Referring to 12% reservations to the Muslims, he stated that the government has already forwarded Assembly resolution to the Centre adding that it took 14 years to achieve statehood for Telangana indicating that reservations cannot be expected in the near future.
