Ex-Minister granted anticipatory bail
Former Minister and Congress leader D Sridhar Babu on Wednesday secured relief in the criminal case registered against him at Chikkadpally police station. The High Court at Hyderabad granted him conditional anticipatory bail.
Hyderabad: Former Minister and Congress leader D Sridhar Babu on Wednesday secured relief in the criminal case registered against him at Chikkadpally police station. The High Court at Hyderabad granted him conditional anticipatory bail.
Justice Shameem Akhter of the High Court at Hyderabad, while granting the anticipatory bail, imposed condition that he must surrender before station house officer within 15 days and furnish two securities of Rs 10,000 each. He was also directed to cooperate with the investigation and not to resort to threatening anyone. He must not leave the country without taking permission of the court, He must also visit the Chikkadpally police station every second Saturday of the month between 10 and 11 am.
Sridhar Babu has been charged with abetting a conspiracy to implicate TRS leader Kishan Reddy in the drugs case by planting 10 kg ganja in the latter’s cattle shed. The Chikkadpally police registered a criminal case against three persons under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
