Hyderabad: The two-day HMTV Property Expo took off on a grand note on Saturday with Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan inaugurating it amid much fanfare. The expo will remain open for public on Sunday, the second day, from 10 am to 8 pm.

Several real estate companies including major developers participated in the mega event put together by HMTV, a leading Telugu news channel and sister concern of The Hans India. Participants showcased their projects including apartments, open plots, villas and luxury homes, among others. Public sector State Bank of India (SBI) took the lead in displaying its home loan portfolio.

“Events like these provide a one-stop platform for people looking for new properties. We know that real estate bodies like Credai and Treda organise property expos. But it’s a good sign that a news channel like HMTV has come forward to organise the expo which will be of immense help to the property buyers as well as sellers,” Mayor said after inaugurating the expo.

He further said that the growing number of property shows being organised in the city was a clear indication that the Hyderabad real estate sector ‘is growing at 200 km/h speed’. Referring to the real estate scenario in other states, he said the city of pearls offered the best opportunity for property buyers among major cities as prices remained low in the city.

Participating real estate companies showcased several properties, attracting visitors in droves. On the first day itself, people descended on Cyber City Convention near Hitex in Hitech City - where the show is being held - and explored the properties on offer.

“HMTV has done good thing by organising the exhibition. We are expecting large number visitors during the two days. We are expecting good response to our projects as well,” said P N Rao, Deputy General Manager, Pragati Green Meadows and Resorts Ltd. His company showcased two projects at the exhibition.

Aparna Constructions and Estates Private Limited, one of the Hyderabad’s leading construction companies, is the main sponsor of the expo. The company, set up in 1996, pioneered the concept of gated community in the city. It brought several projects including Aparna Elixir Puppalaguda to the HMTV expo. Real estate majors Manjeera Constructions and Aditya Construction Company are the co-sponsors for the event which is powered by Axon Housing Solutions Ltd, The Hans India and Kapil Properties.

Other major participants include Cybercity Builders & Developers Private Limited, SMR Holdings, NCC Urban, NorthStar Homes, Fortune Butterfly City, RV Nirmaan Private Limited, Vision India Infra, Giridhari Homes, Rajapuspha Properties Private Limited and SBI Home Loans. For visitors, there is a chance to win gold coins under ‘Walk-In & Win Gold Coins’ programme supported by Manepally Jewellers.
