Hyderabad : Deputy Chief Minister (Education) Kadiam Srihari said that he plans to retire from politics in the year 2021.

In an informal chat with media persons in Assembly lobbies on Monday, Kadiam said he had seen made ups and downs in his political careers. He said he would prefer to be a member of Legislative Council than contesting the next general elections. He said after the lapse of his term in 2021, he would permanently retire from politics.

Kadiam said after taking over as Education Minister, he brought several reforms in the sector. He said efforts were made to end irregularities in the private sector. Admissions in private engineering colleges were linked to candidates' Aadhar Cards to curtail irregularities in Fee Reimbursement scheme and Bio-Metric attendance was introduced in institutions.

The Deputy CM said it would take another five years to completely streamline the education system in Telangana. He said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has given him full powers and liberty to take and implement own decisions.
