Asaduddin Owaisi seeks funds for heritage mosque
All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday urged the officials of Minority Welfare Department to restore and preserve the Mia Mishk Mosque at Puranapul (a heritage structure) by immediately releasing Rs 15 lakh under Wakf grant.
Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday urged the officials of Minority Welfare Department to restore and preserve the Mia Mishk Mosque at Puranapul (a heritage structure) by immediately releasing Rs 15 lakh under Wakf grant.
He called on AK Khan, Advisor to the Government (Minority Affairs) and Syed Omer Jaleel, Secretary, Minority Welfare, at the Secretariat. He asked the officials to take help of Archaeological Department since the mosque was notified as a heritage structure. Amongst other subjects he discussed with the officials were second language status to Urdu, provision of benefits to minorities on par with the SCs and the STs and issuing of pattas to 160 poor families of the Mahajareen camp of Mecca Masjid.
