The Telangana Government on Wednesday ordered release of certain fails of Wakf Board which were seized earlier.

Hyderabad : The Telangana Government on Tuesday ordered release of certain fails of Wakf Board which were seized earlier.

Following orders of the State Government, Hyderabad District Collector Yogitha Rana had seized all the scanned and photo copied Wakf records/files of Wakf Board and kept them in her custody. The State Government has already issued instructions for verifying the Wakf lands in the field, all over the State through the District Collectors for preparing a database of all Wakf Properties and also to identify encroachments as well as inclusion of Wakf records in the Revenue Registers, as per procedure.

The State Government on Tueesday advised the Hyderabad District Collector to return/reopen the records relating to Marriage Certificates and files relating to day to day activities, Court Cases and RTI immediately, to alleviate any inconvenience to public. She has been directed to depute a team of responsible officials of Revenue Department to the Wakf Board to start preparing inventory of all the files, Wakf properties and details of encroachments of Wakf Properties etc.

A team of six officials was also deputed from the Directorate of Minorities Welfare to assist in the above exercise. The team comprises of Assistant Directors Mazher Ali and B. Manya, Superintendent P. Aruna, Senior Assistants K. Naveen Kumar Reddy and Khairunnisa Begum and Data Entry Operator Aamer Ali Khan.
