Hyderabad: Nalgonda Lok Sabha member Gutha Sukhender Reddy has denied reports that he had decided to quit. He rebutted the allegation that he had decided because he was not appointed as chairman of the Rythu Samanvya Samithis (RSS).

In a chit chat with the newsmen in the Assembly lobbies here on Tuesday, the Congress MP, who joined TRS, said he had no clue about the constitution of RSS by the State government. He said he had neither received any official communication regarding his appointment nor government asked his opinion on the constitution of the Samithis which meant for the welfare of farmers.

The government had decided to pay Rs 8,000 input subsidy per acre per annum from next year to farmers to rescue them from debt burden. The RSS would play a key role in identifying the beneficiaries and also execution of the new farmers’ welfare scheme.

He ridiculed the reports that he had submitted the resignation letter to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister would decide whether he would contest from Assembly or Lok Sabha constituency in 2019 general
elections.
