The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) officials are considering taking up works of Radial Roads over a distance of 54.21 km on various stretches as it will help the commuters to have a comfortable travel, Moreover, it will also provide connection to the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) officials are considering taking up works of Radial Roads over a distance of 54.21 km on various stretches as it will help the commuters to have a comfortable travel, Moreover, it will also provide connection to the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

The five proposed Radial Roads will be taken up by HMDA from Moosapet to BHEL junction, Midhani to Adibatla, Taranagar to Devaraguda, Nizampet X Roads to Kazipally and Nagole Bridge to Korremula. The roads from Taranagar to Devaraguda and Nizampet X Roads to Kazipally will have a cycling track and a utility corridor.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Wednesday, a senior HMDA official said that the five radial roads work would be taken up soon by the HMDA. He said that costs involved in land acquisition and Radial Roads would be funded from the savings of Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA) funds. He also said that these radial roads would have central median, cycle track, footpath-cum-drain and utility corridor.

The official said that the Detail Project Report (DPR) for Moosapet to BHEL junction (7.40 km) was yet to be prepared. He said that land acquisition from Midhani to Adibatla (15.50 km) would cost around Rs 64 crore, Taranagar to Devaraguda (8.90 km) land acquisition, Rs 303.81 crore, Nizampet X Roads to Kazipally (8.41 km) will cost Rs 328.82 crore, whereas the Radial Road from Nagole Bridge to Korremula (14.0 km) would be formed by Musi River Front Development Authority and the land pooling will be taken up by HMDA.

Earlier, Municipal Administration & Urban Development minister K Taraka Raman Rao instructed the officials to speed up the Radial Roads works taken up jointly by HMDA and Roads & Buildings Department. which were in various stages of progress.
