Hyderabad: Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) has set a record of sorts with all 24 motors of the Pattiseema LI Scheme continuously pumping water for 148 days during the current season, lift-irrigating 100 tmc ft of water as part of the inter-linking of the Godavari with the Krishna river. The MEIL has achieved an important mile stone, according to its officials.

In 2015, when Pattiseema Lift-Irrigation scheme was launched, only 4 tmc ft of water could be pumped. In 2016, the quantity of water pumped by the project was 55 tmc ft. In 2017, the quantity pumped was 100 tmc ft.

During the current season, 24 motors worked continuously expending 25,36,06,000 kilo watts of power. The MEIL proved its expertise in electro-mechanical sector with the motors continuously running for 72,000 hours. Overcoming the hurdles, Pattiseema Lift-Irrigation scheme is the first of its kind in the country to have been successfully executed within the time stipulated with no cost overruns.

The Pattiseema LI Scheme, the biggest in the Asia, discharges 240 cusecs per second with the help of 24 motors. The motors worked efficiently 1.20-lakh hours since the commencement of the project. Each motor of the project, first of its kind in the irrigation sector in the country, worked for more than 5,000 hours without interruption.
