The Crime Prevention and Detection Squad (CPDS) of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway nabbed a notorious Inter- State Gang of criminals who were involved in several thefts of passenger belongings reported in running trains between Rajamundhry and Secunderbad Stations.

Hyderabad : The Crime Prevention and Detection Squad (CPDS) of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway nabbed a notorious Inter- State Gang of criminals who were involved in several thefts of passenger belongings reported in running trains between Rajamundhry and Secunderbad Stations.

As per the advice of Sanjay Sankrityayan, IG cum Chief Security Commissioner/RPF, one special team was constituted led by Inspector, Railway Protection Force, Khammam. The Special Team vigorously contacted victims, co-passengers, on duty Railway Staff and collected voluminous information. This information was thoroughly analyzed and intelligence about movement of suspects was collected.

Accordingly, a joint team of RPF and Government Railway Police (GRP) was constituted and arrested the Inter- state gang of seven criminals including one receiver belonging to Haryana and Rajasthan today at Secunderabad Railway Station.

On interrogation, the accused persons revealed that they have committed the thefts during midnights mostly in AC Coaches when the victims were fast asleep and also by Zip operation of luggage near doorways at the alighting points when the passengers were in a hurry to get down.

The joint team recovered huge booty of gold ornaments weighing about 2 kilos valued at Rs. 60 Lakh from these criminals. As many as 21 previous cases including one robbery case were connected in this regard.
