Hyderabad : Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari said that the Telangana Government would soon take a decision on filling up vacant teachers' posts in aided schools in the State.

Replying to a question raised by TDP MLA R. Krishnaiah during Question Hour in Legislative Assembly on Friday, the Deputy CM informed that as many as 3,502 teachers' posts were vacant in the aided schools in the State. He said nearly 1.23 lakh students were studying in 742 aided schools across the State. However, he said of nearly 7,000 posts of teachers, only 3,500 posts were filled. He said a decision to fill the vacancies would be taken after consulting Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao.

Srihari said so far two meetings were held with the managements of aided schools and their views were taken on the issue. He said detailed discussions were held on the subject in the presence of Finance Minister Etala Rajender.
