110-kg ganja seized

They seized 110 kg of contraband besides two vehicles used for transporting Ganja to Hyderabad. They seized 110 kg of contraband besides two vehicles used for transporting Ganja to Hyderabad. The arrested persons were identified as Ramana, Peraiah, Shiva Shankar Babu of Guntur district and Ramesh of Vijayawada of neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
According to Excise department task force officer Pavan Kumar, the accused were transporting 110-kg Ganja in two vehicles which they purchased from one Adinarayana of Tuni of Andhra Pradesh. The worth of the seized Ganja is about Rs 7.7 lakh. The officials registered cases under Narcotics Act and further probe is on.
