The Chief Minister wanted Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari to visit Maharashtra to study measures taken for the protection of Urdu language and asked another Deputy CM Mohamood Ali to visit Rajasthan to make arrangments for the construction of Rubaat in Ajmer.

A review meeting took place at Pragati Bhavan on Monday on the decision taken by the government on minorities’ welfare and several assurances made in the Legislature recently. Deputy CM Mohamood Ali, MLAs Akbaruddin Owaisi, Aamer Shakeel, Wakf Board Chairman Mohammed Salim, Government’s Advisor AK Khan, Principal Secretary Minorities Syed Omar Jaleel, Principal Secretary (Municipal) Navin Mittal, Minority Finance Corporation MD Shafiullah, SPDCL CMD Raghuma Reddy, CMO Secretary Smita Sabharwal, Special Secretary Bhoopal Reddy, Hyderabad Collector Yogita Rana and others participated.

The Chief Minister said welfare schemes for minorities should be designed on the lines of SC/ST welfare schemes. He asked the Minorities Welfare Department officials to have meeting with the SC/ST Welfare Department and chalk out an action plan. He also directed to complete the process of appointment of 66 Urdu officers in 40 days. He said that clear instructions should be given to officials to introduce Urdu in all the government and public sector undertakings entrance exams.

The Chief Minister said Singareni officials have been asked to give holiday on Christmas and Ramzan to the workers of those communities. He said all the Collectors have been given clear-cut instructions to protect the Wakf lands and send lists of Wakf properties, which will be protected by government. He wanted recommendations to strengthen the Minority Development Corporation, Urdu Academy and the Wakf Board.
