Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao desired that the proposed World Telugu Conference to be held in Hyderabad should unfold the great literary creativity of Telangana, show case the literary works of the great Telangana writers,
Hyderabad : Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao desired that the proposed World Telugu Conference to be held in Hyderabad should unfold the great literary creativity of Telangana, show case the literary works of the great Telangana writers, send signals that there is future for Telangana language and the conference should be organised to uphold the self dignity, entertaining the people and bring laurels to Hyderabad.
He desired that the World Telugu Conference should dwell upon the literary creativity, Telangana’s Language uniqueness and all the generes of the region. He said the government wants along with the literary activities, the Conference should also focus on cultural programmes and other art forms.
The Chief Minister held an extended meeting with literary personalities on the arrangements of the proposed World Telugu Conference here at Pragati Bhavan on Monday. Government’s Chief Advisor Dr. Rajiv Sharma, Advisor KV Ramanachary, MP K Kavita, Telangana Sahitya Academy Chairman Nandini Siddha Reddy, TS Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana, Principal Secretary (Municipal) Navin Mittal, GHM Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, Official language Commission Chairman Devulapalli Prabhakar Rao, Grandhalaya Parishad Chairman Ayachitam Sridhar, Telugu University VC SV Satyanarayana, Cultural Affairs secretary B Venkatesham, Telangana Sahitya Academy Secretary Enugu Narasimha Reddy, Cultural affairs Director M Harikrishna and Hyderabad Collector Yogita Rani and other eminent personalities participated in the meeting.
KCR discussed with the literary personalities and took their suggestions. He urged that the proposed World Telugu Conference should be held with the same spirit, coordination and enthusiasm as it was shown during the separate statehood movement, which achieved the Telangana State.
“There is lot of literary creativity that took place in Telangana. There is no dearth of talent in the region. But the kind of name and fame which the Telangana literary personalities should get did not happen and their fame was not brought into light. The work that is happening for the development language here should be known to the world. The proposed Conference should show the self respect of the Telangana literary history, culture and not to demean others. Special programme should be there on all language genres. Give important to painting and other art forms. Our talent and greatness should come forward. Publish the unpublished manuscripts,” the Chief Minister said.
“The Conference should be held on large scale and with lot of pomp and show. Decorate Hyderabad city with welcome arches. Telugu poems and songs should be held all over. The conference arrangements should bring laurels to the city. Make excellent boarding and lodging facilities for the guests. Invite the Telugus world over. Organise separate daises and allocate each dais to one genre,” the CM said.
The Chief Minister said confidence should be created among the participants that the Telugu language has future. “Our government has made it mandatory to teach Telugu till Intermediate education. This has received well from all the sections. The Muslim religious elders also requested to extend this in Urdu medium schools also. This is a good development. We will also implement a policy by which people studying Telugu will get job opportunities. We will protect Telugu as we protect our mother. In Telugu students should have subjects, which teach them, social awareness, ethical values and respect towards the elders. Along with organising the conference the message should go clear and loud about future of Telugu,” the CM said.
