Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao’s remarks on Congress should be buried received a lot of backlash from the Telangana unit of the Congress.

KTR made the remarks during an event on Saturday in Warangal where he said that it was time to ‘bury’ the Congress as they were creating unnecessary issues and obstructing the development of the state.

Responding to the comments, AICC secretary and former MP Hanumanth Rao said that KTR should ensure his statements suit his age and also not forget that Congress gave political birth to his father K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is now chief minister of Telangana.

Rajya Sabha member G Renuka Chowdary and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Shabbir Ali too countered the remarks at the Congress party's state headquarters in Nampally.

Renuka Chowdary told the media that Bangaru Telangana has been achieved only for KCR’s family and not for commoners while Shabbir Ali said that the TRS government had failed the people, who are now waiting to teach them a befitting lesson in the next election, for not implementing their promises.
