Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari has ordered an enquiry into the incident wherein a private school management has made a 12-year-old boy stand outside the classroom as punishment for not wearing shoes.

The Deputy CM has directed the officials of Education Department to enquiry into the matter and submit a report at the earliest. He also warned the school managements against harassing children.

The incident occurred in Srinidhi International School where a 7th class student Chetan Chowdhary was made to stand outside the classroom for two days. He did not wear the school shoes due an injury on his feet. The management did not listen to the parents when they tried to explain the real reason behind not wearing shoes. The incident has reportedly cause mental agony to the child which forced the parents to lodge a complaint against the school in Moinabad Police Station on Monday night.

Taking a serious note of the incident, the Deputy CM warned that stern action would be taken against the schools that punish children for trivial reasons.
