Husband kicks wife out of the house over biryani in Warangal

A 25-year old woman in Warangal district was kicked out of her house for not making edible biryani. The woman, who registered a complaint with the police claimed that her husband threw her out of the house as the biryani she made didn’t taste good.

In her complaint, the woman further said that it was the second time she was being thrown out of the house in a marriage which hasn’t even completed a year and that too for the same reason.

The husband, a computer engineer is also an alcoholic and according to his wife, he demands biryani every day.

However, the woman shared that she wasn’t a good cook and was harassed for the same reason along with dowry by her in-laws and husband.

In January this year, this episode had taken place but the intervention of the elders in the family helped her reconcile back with her husband in June.

This time, the husband once again demanded biryani in his intoxicated situation and when the outcome was not as he expected, he beat his wife and kicked her out of the house.

She protested out the house at Illanda village of Wardhannepet in Warangal and local women rights activists extended support by guiding her to the police station and file a complaint.

The police is learned to have tried counseling the husband and his family.
