Keeping in view of the World Telugu Conference which is to be held in Telangana from December 15 to 19, the state government has proposed to host the conference at the Hyderabad Sahitya Academy.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is keen to host the Conference on a large scale to create awareness on the Telugu language and literature to the world has instructed the officials to hold cultural programmes in Telugu at LB Stadium besides arrangements for visitors.

He further directed the officials to invite Telugu language experts, writers, prominent poets, and representatives of various Telugu organizations from India and abroad.

KCR further instructed the officials to decorate Hyderabad for the World Telugu Conference by erecting welcome arches reflecting the Telugu culture, play Telugu songs of various forms along with organizing platforms to showcase various forms of Telugu literature and art.

Stating that the Telangana has preserved the folk culture of Telugus apart from its language and literature.

The state government has sanctioned Rs 50 crores for the conference and each district will be receiving Rs 5 lakhs for literary competitions in all schools, colleges, and universities.
