Drive against violence on Dalit women launched
Dalit Sthree Sakthi State convener Jhansi Geddam has said a 16-day campaign to sensitise people on violence against Dalit women began from Saturday. Addressing participants of a conference on “Let us oppose violence against Dalit Women” held at Ravindra Bharati on Saturday, she expressed concern over the excessive media attention on the Ivanka Trump’s visit to the city.

Media gave utmost priority to her attire and security, she said, stating that the condition of Indian women would have been lot better had the same attention been given to curb violence being perpetrated against them. Dr Balaboyina Sudarsan, Osmania University scholar, Associate Professor in the Nizam College, Dr Siddaji Rao, SC/ST IAS/IPS Forum director, Asha Lata, national member of Mahila Hakkula Vedika and others graced the occasion.
