Man stabbed to death, Maoists’ hand suspected

Five Unidentified persons suspected to be the Maoists stabbed to death a tribal man near his house at Pedda Midisileru village on Saturday night.  The deceased was identified as Sodi Prasad of Pedda Midisileru of Charla mandal. He was a farmer and also a carpenter. 

Kothagudem: Five Unidentified persons suspected to be the Maoists stabbed to death a tribal man near his house at Pedda Midisileru village on Saturday night. The deceased was identified as Sodi Prasad of Pedda Midisileru of Charla mandal. He was a farmer and also a carpenter.

According to the police, five persons had gone to the house of Prasad around 9 pm on Saturday and tried to take Prasad with them forcibly but his wife resisted them. They tied his wife and whisked off Prasad away with them and stabbed him to death at a place which is very close to his house.

Two letters written in Telugu and Hindi were left near the body. One of the letters clearly mentioned “Prasad Mar Gaya” while the rest of the matter was illegible. Another letter purported to be written by Charla Sabari Area Committee mentioned a different person as the victim. Bhadrachalam ASP Sunil Dutt suspects that the murder could be the result of financial misunderstandings.
