Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narender Modi has assured that the BJP Government at the Centre would provide all required support for the development of Telangana State.

The Prime Minister, who arrived in the city to inaugurate Hyderabad Metro Rail and participate in Global Entrepreneurship Summit, was accorded a warm welcome by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and other dignitaries on his arrival at Begumpet Airport on Tuesday. The Telangana BJP had organised a grand reception at the airport.

PM Modi thanked the BJP workers for gathering in large numbers at a short notice. He said today BJP was the world's biggest political party due to the struggle and sacrifices made by its workers. He said that the BJP did not get the opportunity to serve people in States like Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Kerela. However, he said despite being out of power, BJP workers have been working hard to strengthen the party.

Stating that Telangana was a new State, he assured of his complete support in the development process. He said that the BJP Government at the Centre believes in competitive cooperative federalism and it does not discriminate on the basis of which party is ruling the State. He said all States were being encouraged to carry out development.

PM Modi surprised everyone by delivering speech in Telugu language for over a minute. He began and concluded his speech in Telugu. He said Hyderabad reminds him of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who ensured merger of Hyderabad with Indian Union. He also paid tributes to the martyrs of Hyderabad Liberation struggle.

Telangana BJP president Dr. K. Lakshman, floor leader in Assembly G. Kishan Reddy and other BJP leaders were also present on the occasion.

After the reception, PM Modi, along with the Governor and Chief Minister, left for Miyapur Metro Station in a helicopter to inaugurate the Hyderabad Metro Rail.
