The United States President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and several other dignitaries who attended the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) were treated to a royal feast at the Falaknuma Palace. The dinner was hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday night.

Hyderabad: The United States President Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump and several other dignitaries who attended the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) were treated to a royal feast at the Falaknuma Palace. The dinner was hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday night.

The 122-year-old historic Taj Falaknuma Palace came alive as Ivanka and Prime Minister arrived for the dinner. As soon as Ivanka arrived, she was accorded a royal welcome with traditional aarti and a ride in tonga (horse drawn carriage) to the main entrance of the palace. The dignitaries were greeted with Rose and Mogra flowers on a red carpet. After the arrival of VVIPs, all the guests occupied the world’s largest dining hall with 101 chairs.

The Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao, Reliance Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani were among the VVIPs who were present for the royal dinner. The dining hall and the antique artefacts came out in resplendent glory in the light from chandeliers.

The delegates were served a five-course meal which included sumptuous Hyderabad Dum Biryani and Haleem. Famous Nizami delicacies like Gosht Shikampuri Kebab, Dahi ke Kebab, Murg Pista ka Salan and Kubani ke Malai Kofta were also served. Deserts including Sitaphal Kulfi and Double ka Meetha and appetisers and soup were served.

Apart from the famed Hyderabad cuisine, Western dishes were also made available for the dignitaries. In the vegetarian category, Makai Badam ka Shorba, Dal ki Shammi, Bharwan Paneer Tikka, Tamarind Sorbet, Chilgoza Saag, Subz Gular Biryani, Chatpate Aloo aur Anardana do Pyaza, Dal-e-Adaa, Mirchi ka Salan, Boondi Raita, Assorted Indian breads, Khubani ka Meetha with Pistachio Cream, fresh cut fruits and Pan platter were served to vegan delegates.

Amidst tight security, Ivanka and Prime Minister reached the palace in special cavalcade of cars. The delegates were also provided high security travel arrangements to reach the palace from the GES venue at HICC. Governor E S L Narasimhan, TATA company’s owner Ratan Tata, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitaraman were also present.
