On day one of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, AmbuPod has garnered a lot of attention.

The three-wheeled solar-powered micro-ambulance can accommodate one patient and also be attached to a two-wheeler.

Developed by a Pune-based start-up, the device is run by a former officer of the Indian Air Force and is ideal for crowded cities and rural areas besides hilly regions.

Equipped with a single stretcher that can accommodate one patient and medical attendants, the AmbuPod can be operated as a 24-hour ambulance and is weather-proof.

It also has a make-shift tent kit, particularly for pregnant women helping set up outpatient facilities and conduct deliveries.

The equipment is charged by solar power but the low-cost ambulance is yet to hit the market as the developers are waiting for the grant of a patent.
