Hyderabad : Advisor to US President Ivanka Trump advised women to adopt technology as it was a great driver of entrepreneurship and it could empower them professionally and personally.

Addressing a session on "Workforce Development and Skills Training" on the second day of Global Entrepreneurship Summit at HICC on Wednesday, Ivanka said, "Technology was a great driver of entrepreneurship because a lot of women are leaving and saying this doesn't work for me. It is emboldening them to go out on their own. It is reducing barriers to starting new businesses, and creating flexibility around schedule."

Ivanka Trump said 90 cents of a dollar earned by women goes back to the community and adds value for the society. She said issues pertaining to women should be treated as 'critical issues' and not just 'women's issues'. She also stressed on creation of new curriculum with greater focus on private sector.

The session was moderated by Telangana IT Minister K. Tarakarama Rao. Cherie Blair, founder of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women; Chanda Kochhar, managing director and CEO of ICICI Bank; and Karen Quintos, chief customer officer of MNC Dell EMC also addressed the session.
