Hyderabad: Even as people warmed up to a ride in metro rail a few stoppages along the route scared citizens albeit for a short while. A train came to an abrupt halt at Prakash Nagar leaving passengers in a tizzy. A passenger Sainath said, “I would be lying if I said that we did not have anxious moments. The train just stopped, and we were told later that the train stopped due to signal issues.” HMR officials admitted to the stoppages and said that these were just minor irritants and teething troubles that any new system would face.

Escalators stop working at few stations

The lift and escalators were down at a few stations such as Nagole, Uppal station and others as crowd that thronged the stations kept pressing the emergency button on the escalators creating a technical glitch. Officials at the stations confirmed that the equipment will begin working without glitches from Thursday. Officials said that as days pass people will get accustomed to the rules. We have placed a list at stations and also make announcements throughout the day.
