Hyderabad: Uncertainty is prevailing over the visit of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Vice-President Rahul Gandhi to the State in view of Gujarat elections. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has proposed to hold a public meeting in Warangal in December and invited Rahul Gandhi to take part in the event. The TPCC has planned to ensure that Rahul Gandhi addresses a public meeting soon after he is elected as President of Indian National Congress (INC).

The TPCC assumed that the elections to the top body of the INC would be completed by mid-November and planned to hold public meeting. But the organisational elections to the AICC were postponed. Rahul Gandhi would file his nomination for the president of INC on December 4. Scrutiny of nominations would be completed by December 5. If there are no other nominations for the post of the party president, Rahul Gandhi would be announced as president of the INC on the same day, the TPCC leaders said.

Apart from it, Rahul Gandhi is at present preoccupied with hectic electioneering in Gujarat. It means that he may focus his attention on reconstitution of the AICC only after Gujarat elections. Now, the TPCC is planning to hold “Girijan Sadassu” in December in Warangal. The party leaders have begun spadework to hold the meeting sometime in December.
