According to the latest data revealed by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Telangana stands at the second position across the country in the number of cheating cases with 8,394 registered in 2016.

According to the latest data revealed by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Telangana stands at the second position across the country in the number of cheating cases with 8,394 registered in 2016.

Maharashtra stood first with 800 cases of cheating registered followed by Telangana and Andhra Pradesh respectively.

Even though the cheating cases have witnessed a rise in Telangana from 8,000 in 2015 to 8,394 cases in 2016, the NCRB data revealed Hyderabad recording a decrease in cheating cases from 2,171 to 2,081.

The data also shows the criminal breach of trust cases in Hyderabad increasing from from 92 in 2015 to 113 in 2016 while forgery cases stand at 23 in 2016.

The number of crimes under Indian Penal Code have witnessed a decline from 16,965 in 2015 to 16,742 in 2016 in Hyderabad with the police taking several initiatives such as She Teams and Hawkeye to keep the city safe.
