Hyderabad: Following a phone call that a bag containing bombs was left at the Ameerpet metro rail Station, the police and anti-bomb squad rushed to the station and thoroughly checked the premises on Sunday and found nothing in a bag as alleged by a miscreant. Later, the HMR authorities clarified that there was no bomb threat to metro services in the city.

Taking serious objection to news reports being telecast in a vernacular news channel over bomb threat at Ameerpet metro Interchange, HMRL Managing Director NVS Reddy said a passenger had forgotten his bag and the same was returned to him.

There was no need to panic and security checks were being conducted regularly as part of the security measures put in place at the metro stations, he said.
