Field staff plays key role in train safety: SCR GM

Hyderabad : South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav reviewed the safety aspects of trains running over the Zone in a review meeting on Monday at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments.

The Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded attended the meeting through video conference.

Vinod Kumar Yadav presented “Man of the Month” Safety Awards to 14 employees including seven field personnel who monitor fitness of the track. "Man of the Month" Awards were given to the staff for their alertness in the duty and taking timely action to prevent unsafe conditions. He complimented the awardees for showing devotion to the duty and ensuring safety.

The General Manager instructed all the officials to monitor on weld failures in winter season to avoid any unsafe train operations. He advised the officials to monitor personally on night patrolling schedules and not to give any scope for unsafe train running. He also held a detailed review on the other punctuality aspects on the Zone including speed restrictions and traffic blocks etc., He instructed the DRMs to monitor these issues regularly to attain maximum punctuality over the zone.

Additional General Manger John Thomas and other senior officials were also present in the meeting.
