Engineering student ends life by jumping from eighth floor of hostel building

An engineering student allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the eighth floor of a hostel building in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as Rishi Varma is a resident of Hyderabad and was a first year engineering student of a private college.

According to the police, Rishi had allegedly consumed alcohol on Wednesday and was checked by the warden with a breathe analyser following which his parents were informed.
Depressed over his parents learning about him getting drunk, Rishi reportedly committed suicide by jumping from the eighth floor of the hostel.

Few of his classmates, however, alleged that Rishi was being being harassed by a few teachers and he took the extreme step unable to bear it.
